Grow Hair, Grow!

So I’m sure you’re all familiar with this craze over coconut oil. If you aren’t, you’re missing out on all the fabulous ways to incorporate it into your life!

One way coconut oil has gained its popularity is the wonderful nutrients it provides for your hair. Using coconut oil as a hair mask helps to stimulate hair growth, moisturize dry hair, add shine, prevent split ends, and slow down hair growth.

Now, I am a bit neurotic when it comes to my hair. All I want is long, healthy, luscious locks- is that too much to ask for?! But, since I am not going to magically wake up with them, I do all that I can to speed up the growing process. I even do my absolute best to keep away from those hot hair tools! So, when I heard that coconut oil is great for growing and keeping hair healthy, I figured I’d give it a try!

When it comes my to hair, I’ve given everything a try. Peanut butter, beer, eggs (I don’t know which was worse/more gross.) Anyways, nothing worked, so I thought coconut oil probably wouldn’t do much for me.

I WAS TOTALLY WRONG. Coconut oil is liquid magic. I saw results after the first time using it! After consistently using it, I noticed my hair is softer, fuller, and has grown faster than usual.

I’m sure you can find plenty of “how-tos” on using coconut oil. Basically, I’ll sum it up: Coconut oil can be found at pretty much any grocery store, and it comes as a solid. So, use a spoon or ice cream scooper to scoop out a decent amount into a bowl-the longer your hair, the more you should use. Then, since it’s too hard to put it in your hair as a solid, pop it in the microwave for about 45 seconds-1 minute. Once it’s a liquid, dip your hands in and start lathering all over your hair starting at the roots. To try to make as little of a mess as possible, I use a method as if I am going to put my hair up in a pony tail, then continually do that motion until I reach my ends. Then, just twist your hair into a bun and secure! (picture shown above)

I leave my hair like that for at least a half hour to an hour. To maximize your results, you can even sleep with it and wash it out in the morning! But I find the oil too messy to sleep with, so a half hour is just about right for me! No matter how long you choose to leave it in, just be sure to REALLY scrub the oil out, otherwise you hair will look super greasy (ugh-the worst!)

Along with coconut oil, taking vitamins can be a really helpful way to stimulate hair growth. Before, I used to take Biotin, but I did not see much of a difference. I just recently started taking, Hair Revive Natural Defense. I noticed these worked for me, because there are lots of B Vitamins in just one serving! There are 4 capsules in one serving, so I take two in the morning and two at night. I know everyone reacts differently to vitamins, so if what you’re taking works for you then stick with it! or if you’d like to try Hair Revive Natural Defense, I get mine from Amazon, for a really affordable price!

SO….we got coconut oil hair mask and vitamins to help our hair grow! And as much as I dread them, regular trims help our hair grow even faster! Now let’s keep our fingers crossed for those luscious locks!

Loves! Xo
