Yesterday was my last day of the Skinny Teatox! I decided to only do it for 7 days, because I am leaving for Vegas tomorrow (yay!) and wanted to quickly cleanse my body so, I figured I’d give this a shot!
Skinny Teatox is 100% all natural tea to promote heath and weight loss. As mentioned on their website, this teatox will help you lose weight, burn calories, boost metabolism, cleanse, detoxify, suppress appetite, and increase energy levels. You are given a 7 day supply of a loose leaf tea and a weight loss tea. The loose leaf tea is the first thing you drink in the morning and the weight loss tea is taken every other evening. The morning tea is a stimulant, so it gives you a nice supply of energy and helps suppress your appetite. The evening tea cleanses and detoxifies by cleaning out your colon and ridding of toxins.
This teatox recommends that you eat healthy and stay active while you are doing it. Their website provides you with all the foods you should be eating (such as lots of fruits and vegetables) and all the foods to avoid. On a daily basis, I exercise and eat healthy, so luckily, I did not have to cut out too much. My goal was to increase energy and detoxify my body. If you are looking more for weight loss, I would try to follow their recommendations as closely as possible to maximize your results!
Here are my thoughts:
Day 1: I woke up on and fixed my morning tea. I knew beforehand that it was a loose leaf tea, but I really did not enjoy having to avoid swallowing them. To make it easier, I used a straw. I instantly felt awake and energized from the tea and really had little desire for coffee. All day, I had a normal appetite, but felt satisfied. In the evening, I had my first weight loss tea. This contains the Senna leaf, which is a natural laxative. The effect of the laxative is to be expected 3-10 hours later, so make sure you are near a bathroom in the morning. They say the longer you soak the tea bag, the more intense effect. I started with 5 minutes of soaking. Everybody’s reaction will be different. The first night, I had slight cramping from the tea.
Day 2: I had my morning tea, and will note, the taste of both teas are better than I expected. I normally do not like tea, but I enjoyed the taste of these. I noticed that I did not really suffer from the laxative effect from the weight loss tea the night before. So, I planned on soaking it for longer next time. However, the morning tea still kept me energized and had a normal appetite.
Day 3: Morning tea again! I will admit, even though the morning tea gives me a good amount of energy, I just love coffee. So eventually, I broke down and sipped on coffee throughout the day. I didn’t feel like I needed the energy, but I just wanted the taste (and of course, as I’m writing this, I’m asking myself why I didn’t just get decaf? I have no clue.) Anyways, later in the evening, I soaked my weight loss tea for 8-10 minutes. That night, I had no cramping.
Day 4: Had my morning tea and the first effect from the laxative, which was not bad at all. I noticed I had multiple effects from the laxative throughout the day, but nothing too intense. My morning tea still kept me energized and I did notice a slight suppression of my appetite.
Day 5-7: Were pretty much the same as day 4. I had my morning tea each morning and I really enjoyed the amount of energy it gave me. I had my weight loss tea again on day 6 and had the same effect the next day.
Overall, I really enjoyed doing this teatox and definitely recommend it! It did exactly what I expected it to: increase my energy levels and detoxify my body. I am sure I’d get even better results if I did the 14 or 28 day detox – which I plan on trying soon!
